We are American Legion Post 247 in Poolesville, Maryland.
We are veterans, men, and women who have served honorably in the armed forces as prescribed by law. The Post was founded in the fall of 1951. Our Post includes more than 90 Legionnaires, who, like all American Legion (www.legion.org) members, are volunteers who serve with a commitment to support our fellow service members and veterans, mentor our young Americans, sponsor community service programs, and advocate for strengthening our nation’s defense and security, patriotism and honor.
Our Post meeting occurs monthly from September to June (no meeting in July and August) on the first Thursday at 7 PM. All meetings are at the Calleva Farm Store located at 19936 Fisher Ave, Poolesville, MD 20837. We are continuously seeking and welcoming new members.
